Sometimes

Sometimes I wish I could hold a parasol instead of wearing a hat.

Sometimes I wish I could wear dainty lace-up shoes with sensible heels instead of glorified thongs.

Sometimes I wish I could sit with other ladies and do needlepoint on a velvet covered armchair instead of sitting at my computer.

Sometimes I wish I could wear long flowing dresses with petticoats and buttons up to my neck instead of showing my cleavage.

Sometimes I wish I could take a constitutional stroll down a tree lined lane instead of lying on the floor doing crunches and push-ups.

Sometimes I wish I could sit under tree and read a book in the dappled light instead of watching TV.

Sometimes I wish I could write a list of things to do for the cook and the maid instead of writing a list of things I have to do.

Sometimes I wish I could go to a ball dressed in finery instead of going to dinner at the local tavern.

Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era.

  1. Oh me too...
However I am from the 1950s housewife era!
I was made for it I tell you!!

Although, Lex and I were watching Brigadoon the other day and I was saying I wish I was around for the beautiful flowing dresses!

    xx
