It's fascinating reading (she escaped from Hungary during WWII with three young children)and I'm so sorry that I don't have a matching story from my Latvian grandmother, who has now passed away.Aussie-wafflerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18110855454126770624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2331972089469544815.post-12865441884511457802010-10-06T21:19:02.093+10:002010-10-06T21:19:02.093+10:00It always blows me away that they had such great p...It always blows me away that they had such great photos back then.

Your's are lovely, fabulous looking mum and dad btw. xxSo Now What?https://www.blogger.com/profile/13009715674974259128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2331972089469544815.post-63127289101925549452010-10-06T18:52:05.718+10:002010-10-06T18:52:05.718+10:00They are beautiful photos. Lately I've been thinking about all the photos we take these days, and blogs, and emails, and Facebook and Twitter, and whether all of these things will mean in generations to come you'll really know everything about your ancestors based on all that kind of stuff. Imagine reading blogs written by your grandmother! xAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2331972089469544815.post-33981848407287853782010-10-06T14:17:20.662+10:002010-10-06T14:17:20.662+10:00Beautiful photos. I think making one would be such a lovely idea and not selfish at all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2331972089469544815.post-67057059121007814292010-10-06T14:08:04.862+10:002010-10-06T14:08:04.862+10:00You have a great collection there, they are fab. Have what mum calls a "Rogue's Gallery" on the wall of my hallway, all sepia or black & white.
They are a great piece of history :)CATE https://www.blogger.com/profile/05302489120654085490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2331972089469544815.post-45196244201804294242010-10-06T13:09:45.856+10:002010-10-06T13:09:45.856+10:00Oh Thea. You, and your amazing sense of family and your strength of ties to family is enchanting.

These photos are gold.

You inspire me to get scanning myself.

Thea, like Jodie says, you can easily get a book about your Grandma's life made. Digitally. It would be a wonderful project and an incredible legacy. I shall email you some links....

(If someone was ever to make one about me after I had passed away, I would look on and be thrilled!)

Hope you are OK. xxDiminishing Lucyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02072304081006798910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2331972089469544815.post-53260602861102812592010-10-06T12:56:52.572+10:002010-10-06T12:56:52.572+10:00I'm with you. I love old photos too, and I really wish I had a book about my grandparent's life.

I am fortunate to have a book and an information pamphlet on my great, great, great grandfather though, because he was a pretty important guy at the time in WA. His old home is a museum, and I took Hubby there the first year we started dating. It's nice to walk thru knowing my family once lived there.

I find history fascinating.

You know...you could always put something together. There are places that will publish books for you. Gather as much info as possible, photos etc and VOILA! You'll have yourself a book. ;) xxx

PS Hope you're feeling a bit better since your grandmother's funeral. xxJodie Anstedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12300961546795965857noreply@blogger.com
