After going to bed with images and stories of devastation in my head, I didn't want to wake up to more.
The first thing I do every morning (after I'm woken early by one or both of my children) is get the kids a milk and a coffee for myself. As I'm doing this I fire up my laptop. As soon as I sit down with my cuppa I open TweetDeck and four windows...

Lately I have been opening the BOM radar and flooding levels as well.
This morning, I did this as usual, and discovered that our server is down.
If you read my previous post you would know we are isolated by flood waters at the moment.
Suddenly my feeling of isolation was magnified beyond belief!
I discovered that I am an information junkie.
I need to know...NOW...what is happening.
I am currently flicking between the Today show and Sunrise on 7 but they're not telling me what I need to know.
I need to know the water level at our bridges, how far they have dropped, or are they rising again?
I need to know where the rain is, will we have more rain, or is it still raining in the catchment area?
I need to know that all my friends are safe, have they updated on Facebook, or have they sent me any messages?
I don't know anything and it's killing me!
Well, not really.
I am so much better off than so many people.
I am in no danger.
I have lost nothing.
It is worrying not knowing how much longer we will be cut off.
Our town has effectively run out of everything, the supermarket shelves are all but empty and most are not even opening today.
Even when the roads are reopened we don't know how long it will take for the trucks to come in because most of our supplies come from Brisbane which is now under attack from this vicious weather.
It's scary, it's worrying, it's almost too much to comprehend.
The photos I put on my last post are nothing compared to the ones I took yesterday...
And these photos are nothing compared to the photos and video I have seen of Toowoomba and Grantham...
For the first couple of days there was a touch of excitement in the air.
We even had Grant Denyer broadcasting the weather for Sunrise from our town.
It was a buzz seeing him on TV then popping down the street to see him live.
But as things worsened, the situation even got to him...
75% of our state has been declared a disaster zone, that is...
Texas x 2
OR
the UK x 5
And now flood warnings are being issued for other Australian states.
This is without a doubt the worst natural disaster in Queensland's history and I'm sitting in the middle of it.
Sitting, unable to do anything.
My heart is breaking for my state and my fellow Queenslanders.
Good Monday morning, how was your weekend?
We spent ours checking the BOM radar constantly and driving around looking at flood waters.
We were unable to leave our town as all roads are cut.
It is still raining and our river is expected to peak sometime this afternoon.
The main street is expected to go under, this hasn't happened since 1999.
If that does happen, we may have water views.
Muddy brown flood water, but water none the less.
I am checking the police reports on Facebook every minute and now they are using the word
isolated
This word is making me feel nervous.
It is making me feel claustrophobic.
How long will we be cut off for?
We are safe up on the highest hill (and that is very high) in town.
We have access to supermarkets.
But even the supermarkets will run out of stock with no trucks able to get in.
However, there are others in our state, and our country, that have lost everything and are really suffering.
So no more complaining here.
This is what our town looked like yesterday.
Coming from a farming family, I feel so badly for the farmers who have lost so much, and have months of starting over ahead.
If you would like to help, here is the link to donate to the flood appeal.
