The 52 Week Project - Treadmilling

Every week I'll be linking with Fiona from @mymummydaze and her "52 Week Project".

She says...

No, this isn’t a diet or exercise regime. It’s not a responsible financial system or an abstinence program. It’s not even a relationship-building sex challenge (although that does sound fun). Although I’m sure I could benefit from all of these year-long challenges, this is much simpler with no great philosophy or life-changing aims underpinning it. It’s a weekly photography self-portrait challenge.

I've got my tread-mill...
I've got my tread-mill...
I've got my tread-mill!!!!!

My new baby, isn't it beautiful?
AND I've been on it every day for 5 days in a row!
I'm loving it and I'm hoping I can keep it up.
Not so happy that I'll be away for 6 nights over Christmas.
I wish I could fit it into my bag!

Yeah, I'm in the garage.
But this is my view...

As you can see, it's raining and I can still walk!
I'm pretty happy about that!!

The 52 Week Project - I Had My Hair Done!

This week I finally booked myself in to have my hair done!
I only visit the hairdresser once or twice a year.
Now that I have to dye my own greys away most of the time...
...having it done at the salon is a luxury.
I've always loved going to the hairdresser.
I used to go to the cheapest one around.
Not anymore.
I've been going to the best one in town for years now.
It costs an absolute fortune,
but my God, is it worth it!!

So, I thought for this week's photo I'd take a timed self-portrait of my new do.
But when Miss 4 saw what I was doing she wanted in on the fun.

It's probably against the rules, but I loved this one of both of us!
Even if my chin is hideous!!
And then, against the rules again, Miss 4 offered to take one of my hair for me.
I think she did okay!

Like my new do?

That means I am totally ready for my

And I can't wait.

I know I've missed a couple of weeks.
I ran out of ways of taking a photo of myself!
But someone missed it (hi Lib!) so I'm back at it this week.

The past week has been all about the Christmas Tree for me.
It's been up for a week.
I'm putting a photo a day of Christmas ornaments on my
blog.
And as soon as a find an angel for the top of the tree
I'll be posting a pic of our tree with a linky so I can see everyone's gorgeous trees.

So, here is me, with our tree...without the angel.

Today I realized I hadn't taken a photo of myself for The 52 Week Project yet this week!
So just before we saw 'The Smurfs' at Sunshine Plaza, I snapped this.
As you can see, I was a wee bit embarrassed taking a photo of myself in public.
So it was the one and only photo I took!
How embarrassment

I've always loved my long hair. Until it started going grey on me, now it's not so popular.
But here it is all freshly dyed and de-greyed!

It was my birthday on Wednesday and on Thursday at our mums' group, one of my friends gave me a gorgeous bunch of roses from her garden.
Aren't they divine?

This week I tried to get a little artistic and take a photo of myself with a gorgeous jacaranda tree in the background.
The jacaranda is way more blurred than I had inteneded...but it's there.

I adore jacarandas.
We have only one in our yard, and I think it may be dead :(
There is no sign of life and all the others are blooming.
Our town is full of them, much to my delight.
From our front patio, I can count 40.
Next week I'm going on a 'jacaranda walk' to snap some purply goodness.

Last week I posted a 'sad eye' photo.
This week I have happy, but very tired, eyes.
I've just finished teaching for 2 weeks full time!
I haven't done that for over 8 years.

I have always said I have blue eyes...I didn't realize how many brown flecks I have until I took this photo.

Last week, one eye.
This week, two eyes.
Maybe next week I'll go for a full face shot!

The 52 Week Project

I feel like I need to join in a linky party on Saturdays.
So I put the call out on Twitter this morning to find one.
@mymummydaze told me about her linky "The 52 Week Project".

She says...

No, this isn’t a diet or exercise regime. It’s not a responsible financial system or an abstinence program. It’s not even a relationship-building sex challenge (although that does sound fun). It looks good, so I'm doing it!

This is my sad eye, the morning after a girls' night out (yes, I never take my make-up off, I know I'm bad).
I won't bore you with tedious details of why it is a sad little eye.
I'll just say there has been disharmony in the house and that always makes me feel like my world has crumbled.

You don't need to worry, it's quite normal.
It's the nature of my roller-coaster life.
It comes with being too sensitive.

I'll be fine, I'll get over it.

But today I don't want to be anybody's anything.
Not wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, teacher.
I just want to be me.
I want to be left all alone to cry in peace.
