5ive Things

Karen from  Nerdycomputergirl in the New Decade has tagged me for 5ive Things.
I don't think I've done this one before, I hope I haven't!
Thanks Karen!!

I have to answer 5 questions and tag 5 fab bloggers.
I'm answering the questions but once again I'm going to cheat with the tagging...

1. Where were you 5 years ago?

Probably sitting on the couch breastfeeding my 9 month old baby boy, and gazing upon his sweet little face with total adoration.

2. Where would you like to be 5 years from now?

Like Karen I'd love to be living in a bigger house but I have no idea where it would be.
Both kids will be at school so I'd love to be doing 3 days relief teaching and spend the rest of my time dressmaking.

3. What are 5 things on your to do list today?

grocery shopping

tidy my 5 year old's bedroom (so I can see the floor)

ironing

knitting

read some more of Kylie Ladd's 'After the Fall' (which I am loving!)

4. What are 5 snacks you enjoy?

Cheese

Carrot sticks and dips

Chips

Cashews

KFC popcorn chicken with mashed potato & gravy (totally disgusting, I know!)

5. What are 5 things you would do if you were a billionaire?

Buy a mansion (and I'm talking M.A.N.S.I.O.N. with a water view)
Travel the world
Gift some money to every family member
Donate donate donate
Become a volunteer worker

So there are my answers...now for the cheating part...

If you read this and thought it sounds like fun...

I tag YOU!

First Post

I've been tagged by Linda at What Happens Next to repost my very first blog post.  Thanks Linda!

Here's the deal...

What I want you to do is repost your very first blog post. I want to see how things are different now, if you write differently, if you write about the same topic, if you did a “hi this is why I’m blogging” sort of post or if you just got straight into it.
Then I want you to tag five people to do the same.

I've been blogging for less than a year.  I started in July 2009.  Here's my first post...

To Blog or Not to Blog?

Can I blog? Should I blog? Do I really want to blog? To blog or not to blog?? That is the question.

Everyone seems to be doing it. My sister is now a blogger. Heaps of my new found Twitter friends are bloggers. The PM is even blogging.

I kind of feel like I want to, too. But do I have anything to say? Yes, I probably do, but can I say it in a way that is remotely interesting? From the myriad of stories that make up my life, where would I even start?? And do I really want to share???

The answer to all of these questions is the same. I don't know.

I asked a lot of questions.
And now seems like a good time to answer them.

It seems I can blog.
It seems I should blog.
And it seems I really DO want to blog!
I obviously have a lot to say because I'm up to 170 posts in less than 1 year!!
Blogging has been one of the best things I've ever done.
I'm very proud of my little blog and I love that my little space reflects who I am.
It's happy, it's sad and everything in between.
It's words, it's images, it's music.
It's me pondering ideas and voicing my opinions.
I write what I feel and/or think.
And the thing I'm most grateful for is the validation I receive by my readers who can relate to what I'm saying.
My aim is to make you laugh, sometimes make you cry, but mostly I just want to be relatable.
And I appreciate anyone who makes the effort to comment because you make me feel so damn good!!

Now I'm supposed to tag 5 people to do the same.
But so many of you have done this already.
If you haven't, and you want to, I tag Y.O.U.

A Sinful Little Game

Lori has deviously devised this sinful little game just for fun. She has called it The Seven Deadly Sins. She wants me to tell her exactly how I get sinful. It sounds a bit naughty but she tagged me so I have to do it!  If it looks like fun to you, consider yourself tagged, too.

Gluttony. What can't you get enough of, even though it's bad for you?
Wine, cheese, reality TV and celebrity gossip.

Lust. What does it for you?
The good old cliche...tall, dark and handsome.  That's my man.  He's still eye candy to me.

Wrath. What makes you cranky?
Not getting my own way, noisy noise (you know, motorbikes, kids screaming, that kind of noise), lack of sleep and pain.

Envy. What makes you green?
People with nice, new or completely renovated houses.

Sloth. How do you relax?
Reading, watching TV, spending time online.

Pride. What are you inordinately proud of?
My kids.  They are amazing little beings.  And the fact that I gave birth to them naturally and drug free (didn't necessarily intend to it just happened that way).

Greed. What do you get greedy for?
KFC (that's gross, I know!)  But give me some mashies, popcorn chicken, and a tub of potato and gravy and I'm in greedy heaven.

So that's me at my sinliest...

Who else wants to play?

Tagged - A Favourite Photo

I've been tagged again and I love being tagged!!
This time by Jodie over at Mummy Mayhem .  You must visit her blog, I simply love it!
But this time I have to post my favourite photo.
Are you serious??  A, as in one, as in single, photo???
I have thousands of photos, all of which I love dearly and can locate within around 30 seconds due to my super duper photo filing system on my computer!  Yes, I'm serious!!
Do I chose a wedding one, a pre-husband one, friends, family, kids?  Or a non-people one...such as scenery, locations, tourist attractions, nature??

You know what?  It just came to me!  I'm going to sit here for three minutes until my 'favourite photos' screen saver kicks in and choose the first one that comes up....now I'm a little nervous....OK, here goes.........

Hahahaha...OK...so that didn't work!  First photo was of a friend and her new girlfriend that I didn't take at a party that I didn't attend....second was of my baby girl but certainly not a great photo.  It seems I need to take another tack.

Right, this time I'll scroll through until I find the 'A-Ha' photo.....here goes again.....

A-Ha!!  Found one!  It's not so much a favourite one as a funny one...here 'tis!

Yes, it's me!  It was taken by a friend at my wedding.  I have such gorgeous wedding portraits taken by a wonderful photographer who made my husband and I look like a celebrity couple.  But this one shows how much fun my wedding was for me.

I hope I don't come across as being vain by choosing a photo of myself.  Honestly, there are a hundred others of my loved ones that I could have chosen.  It's a tough challenge!!

So if I tag you...I hope you're up to it!

TAGGED - 10 Things that Make Me Happy

Wee Rhona of Acting the Maggot, has tagged me and I must say I'm more than a little excited!  I feel like a chosen one and I'm up for the challenge...so here goes...

10 things that make me happy:

1. Singing and dancing with my kids...only in the privacy and security of our own home (or car) so we can really go nuts...that makes me crazy happy.

2. Alone time...something I very, very rarely get these days which makes it even more precious...having a whole day to do whatever I please makes me peacefully happy.

3.  Creating something...anything...whether it be a wedding dress, Santa Sack, a knitting/crochet project, cross stitch, beading, jewellery...if I made it with my own hands I am proudly happy.

4.  Weddings...if I could be anything I wanted to be when I grow up, I'd be a wedding planner/designer...anything weddingy makes me emotionally happy.

5. Winter...yep, really...I love Winter and Winter makes me happy.  No sweaty days, no stinking heat, no baring body bits I'd rather keep covered, no swimming.  Cold weather, hot drinks, red wine, flanny pj's and slippers makes me cosily happy.

6. Amazing views...anywhere with a gorgeous vista that just makes me want to say "Oh my God" over and over again makes me joyously happy.

7. Eating out...I love everything about eating out...dressing up, not cooking, choosing from the menu, being waited upon, not having to clean up...that makes me thankfully happy.

8. Rain...the sound, the smell, the cooling breeze...I love watching the weather radar, particularly if it's a storm...it makes me excitedly happy.

9.  A good walk...I'm usually not one for exercise, but on the off chance that I do actually get my butt into gear and get my walking shoes on and myself out the door, I love a long, invigorating walk...especially along the waterfront or through parklands...afterward I feel physically happy.

10. My computer...without my computer I would not have Twitter, blogging, Facebook, e-mail and Photoshop...on all of which I spend way too much time...but all of which make me exceedingly happy.

11.  I know I'm only meant to do 10 but this one is the most important so deserves an extra spot...my husband and my two children make me happier than I thought possible...they make my heart and soul happy.

And now I have to tag 10 people to blog their 10 'happy' things...
(ooo so much power)
I choose.....
