Sunday Session

On Sundays I pop two favourite songs onto my blog.
An oldie but a goldie.
And a newbie, fresh from the charts, or fresh from the past five years.
But I often break these rules, you can too of course!
Here are my picks for this week.
You can play along by linking up below.
And grab the button on the side bar if you want.
Can't wait to hear your picks.

Happy Sunday!

Madonna was a huge part of my music listening hours when I was a teenager.
I still remember the first time I ever saw her on TV.
Molly Meldrum was talking about her on a music video show saying he thought she was going to be huge!
This is the song is saw...not Holiday...

Embedding is disabled but please click here to see it, you won't be disapointed.

Some of her stuff I didn't like much,
but a lot of it, I loved!
Like this.

OK, so it seems Madonna doesn't like her videos being embedded. So again...click here.

This one, not so much.
But is sounds a lot like the newbie I'm about to play.

Same deal.

And then today I heard this on the radio.
Yes, I am way behind the times with this one.

Tip - skip to 2:20 if you just want to hear the song, the beginning is freaky weird anyhow and who has 7mins20secs to watch the whole thing?

Rip off??
I say yes!
It couldn't be more like a Madonna song, unless Madonna sang it herself.
It's a great song, I love it.
But I still wanna say...Copy Cat!

Natasha's back so I'm linking to her Sunday Song as well today.

  1. Excellent! Sometimes, when it is an oldie I know well, I don't always listen to it in full, but I always enjoy Madonna's videos, so I definitely stayed to watch these videos.

The Lady Gaga song definitely sounded like Madonna could have sung it herself.

  2. I've often said that LG was trying to be the 2000's version of Madonna. I don't think she does it as well. I loved Madonna (for her first 20 years or so. Not so much now).

    Can't stand Lady Gaga.

  3. I just re-read your post. YOu were a TEENager????? God, you make me feel old, Thea. :) Her first album (with Lucky star et al) came out when i was 8!

But then, Madonna was born a year BEFORE my mother!

  5. I so agree with you...she is definitely a copy cat. Madonna can never be replaced...even Glee agreed!

Thanks for having me today. I finally posted a Sunday Song after a nice long break!

    Best wishes,
    Natasha.

  7. I've finally managed to join in with your Sunday Session meme Thea. I can't believe it has taken me so long.

Early Madonna - certainly takes me back. I remember how horrified my mother was when Madonna's first songs were coming out. :-)

  8. I like your madonna choices,
great for some dancing with the vacuum cleaner. I am not keen on the lady...in my mind that she is not.

Why is it that many recording artists take someone elses riffs etc. I always get caught out with that ice baby song thinking its going to be Bowie. So sad...almost tragic *LOL*
