Rejuvenation

It's over.
My crazy season has passed for another year!
But now I'm in desperate need for some rejuvenation.
And what I'm craving most is some alone time.
I always took my solitary time for granted....BC (before children).
Right now, what I'm dying for, is two or three hours days of alone time.
I want to go to bed alone.
Sleep alone.
Wake up alone.
Go for long walks alone.
Go shopping alone.
Eat alone.
Watch TV alone.
Read alone.
Breathe....alone.

It's not going to happen....but one day it will.
And then I'm sure I'll crave my crazy family time.

How do you replenish your soul?
And do you ever get the chance??

How about that serenity?
Yes please!

Alone? What is this strange word you speak of?

  2. Well I have to say Thea, that when your where you are in life, raising kids and young still.I dont think you have that much time for YOU.BUT as I say that its really important to MAKE the time. Not only for yourself but for others in the family.Lets just say it makes the time you share with them alot more special. If you give yourself a well derved break for a bit.Dont feel guilty we have all been there.

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Congratulations! You made it!
A friend and I bought a voucher for a few hours at a day spa on Living Social. Half a day only cost us $49.
It was a long wait to get a Saturday together but so worth it.
Coincidentally, the apoointment feel just after my manic season.
    It was absolute bliss.
I hadn't done anything like that in at least ten years and it rocked.
    Highly recommend it.
    Don't take your phone.
    You deserve it!
    :-)

  5. That's the sad part really. When the kids are little, it seems as though this life is all there ever will be. But it isn't of course. They grow up and leave home. And one day time alone turns to lonely time.
Despite the stress and the 'crowded life syndrome' try to enjoy as much of this time as you can. It will never be repeated

  6. I know exactly what you mean Thea... on both counts. I crave some alone 'me me me' time too... but also know the time I have now with the boys being little will go so fast and I'll miss it like crazy once it's gone. I think a few hours alone each week wouldn't hurt though. At this point, I don't even get that. Oh well, I just enjoy those little windows of opportunity all the more when they present themselves, every so often. Glad you made it through your crazy silly season ;o) xo

  7. I feel much the same right now and I don't even have kids!
I thrive on the Living Social sites, you can score some amazing deals through them. Red Balloon is another good one.
Sign up and keep your eyes peeled for some offers that push your buttons.
A bit of alone time, even if only for a weekend, is definitely justifiable every now and then if only for your own sanity and the safety of others ;)

  8. Like most parents, I can relate to the desire for me or alone time. It's a challenge to adjust when it's gone in an instant your baby is born. But then, the comment from Lyn struck me too. I guess it's finding a little balance where there's the odd opportunity to rejuvenate before facing the masses again.
