The Book

If you would care to scroll down my sidebar you will notice I have started reading a new book.
But this isn't just any old book.
This book was written by my 86 year old father-in-law.
He grew up in the gulf country, in north west Queensland, in the early pioneering days.
He went to war and has been a successful cattle station and race horse owner.
He has many wonderful stories to tell and we were so excited to have been handed our own personalized copy of his book on the weekend.
I've begun reading and I just don't want to put it down.
I can see it as a movie.  He writes just as he speaks, with the charm of an old bushman.
I'm not up to the part where he met my husband's mother yet. I'm sure it will be an emotional read when I get there.
We've been eagerly awaiting this book for months.
They have self published and have copies for family and friends.
It's an amazing gift.  I only wish I could share it with all of you.
