Sunday Session

On Sundays I pop two favourite songs onto my blog.
An oldie but a goldie.
And a newbie, fresh from the charts, or fresh from the past five years.
But I often break these rules, you can too of course!
Here are my picks for this week.
You can play along by linking up below.
And grab the button on the side bar if you want.
Can't wait to hear your picks.

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday we saw Cars 2.

We've been waiting for years for a follow up to the first movie.

Cars was our 6 year old boy's most favourite thing for a very long time.
We collected most of the Cars, and watched the movie at least a squazillion times.

Our boy gets *things* in his head that must be done or must happen, and one was that I had to sing along to Life is a Highway every time it came on...every.single.time. I had to literally drop whatever it was I was doing and run to sing it. I know the words really well now.

So this week's oldie is that very song by Rascal Flatts.

And the newbie is the last song of the new movie, sung by Brad Paisley and Robbie Williams.
Gotta love Robbie...well I do, anyhow...
And I can't believe I didn't recognize his voice at the movies!

PS Melissa - Another week of country!! Please don't leave me! ;)

  1. We went to see it yesterday as well! I didn't recognise Robbie Williams in it either. Will be back later this afternoon with mine. You're killing me, appealing for the country. Now I feel like I've gotta..lol

  2. Life is a Highway is such a singalong song, and Collision of Worlds is a beauty. Their voices are brilliant together. Love your choices! xx

  3. Being from the Great White North, I would obviously prefer the Tom Cochrane version of Life is a Highway, but this is an acceptable rendition. ;-)

A very country-sounding song for Robbie!

  4. We never really got into the whole Cars phenomenon. My older son wasn't interested when the first movie came out and my youngest was too young to care. we're more a train household anyway. :-)

Enjoyed your selection, although I didn't go country myself.
