Bye Sam

Today on Facebook I read the shock news that Sam is being replaced by Greg,
who Sam replaced in the first place.
Yes, of course, I'm talking about the Wiggles.

This is not good.
I like Sam, better than Greg!
We saw them not long ago, Miss 4 and I, for their big birthday concert.
We both loved the show...and Sam.

This evening I tried to explain the replacement to Miss 4.
Oh, the questions a 4 year old asks as she tries to get her head around the whole thing.

"But where is he going to live now?"
"He will still drive the big red car though, won't he?"
"Are all the other Wiggles leaving?"

And she has been saying over and over again...

"I'm sad that Sam is leaving."
"I'm very sad the Sam is leaving."
"I'm very very very very very very sad that Sam is leaving."

Know what Miss 4?
I am too.
Bye Sam.

  1. Yes, wondering how much is linked to avoiding the law suit?

The article I read from Greg a few months back was pretty bitter and angry.

  2. Seems a shame for the generation of children who have enjoyed Sam. However, I thought it was pretty devastating when Greg had to leave, so I am glad he is well enough to join the group again. They probably should have let Sam stay and he could wear a different colour skivvy! xx

    1. When my boy was little and loved the Wiggles, Greg was still the yellow Wiggle. The swap happened just before my baby girl was born, so I've seen a lot of both. Greg is more enthusiastic, but I like Sam's voice better. I don't know how well it will go bringing Greg back. He's looking much older. Sam was the only bit of youth in the group. I guess we'll see....

  4. I was hoping that Sam was going to be the start of a 'new younger' wiggles. Out with the old (though they do a fantastic job) and in with the next generation. Welcome back to Greg, glad he's well, but aren't they getting a little old now? Now wonder Jeff keeps falling asleep, he's nearly 100!

    1. I'm with you there. Only if they did a better job with replacements than Hi-5 did!

    2. Absolutely, the new Hi -5 are a little 'special'.....

I heard an interview this morning with Anthony and I am now very disappointed, he hasn't spoken to Sam, knows not how he is feeling and I think Madmother is right, it's all about saving themselves from a lawsuit, not what's best for the kids (who they originally started all this for). Poor Sam.

  5. I agree with Libby, Sam was ushering the next generation of Wiggles.
