I'm a Blogger NOT a Writer

About three years ago I found Twitter.
I loved it, mainly for the instant connections and wonderful people I could 'talk' to while I was home almost all of the time with my two small children.
And it was through Twitter I that I discovered blogs.
I loved reading blogs!
And I wished I could have one of my own, but I my *mother's brain* left me struggling to write a 140 character tweet, let alone a blog!
But one day I bit the bullet.
I decided to give it a go.
And I found I loved it.
At first I did write...a bit.
But now...not so much.
Most of my blog posts are linked to photograpy, music or fashion.
I don't write much anymore...I share.
I've always been an over-sharer.
If you come to my house for a visit, I'll be showing you this, that and everything.
That is why I have a photo blog, a recipe blog, a sewing blog, a fitness blog, a family blog and this little old blog.
Oh....yes...I...do!

And I do feel a bit odd as a blogger because most bloggers are fabulous writers.
I feel a little different, a bit strange.

So if you visit me here, there, or anywhere,
I'm ever so grateful.
Because I do love to share,
and I do love that you care enough to sit through my ramblings.

  1. Sharing through photos is a wonderful option offered by blogs. As few or as many words as we want to use are totally appropriate. Blogging offers a great freedom to chose how and what and when we share.

  2. And I love that you blog. And that you tweet! And I hope that I meet you one day in person! (In a non-creepy way of course). x

  3. I've always thought blog posts should be short and sweet.
When I first started blogging I used to write & write & write and write… but started to feel rather guilty about my constant ramblings. It is a post after all not a thesis.

But then I wonder isn't a blog meant to be a reflection of the mind behind the scenes?

So whatever you do to share that piece of you, whether its craft, photography, art, music or words so long as you're sharing I'll be watching - Again in a non creepy way.
(See that's the other thing about blogging, so much can be taken out of context. Sometimes just sharing an image or something simple is so much better ;o)

  4. We used to call it "show and tell" and I instantly got what you meant about wanting to share everything when you have people over. Do it your way and don't doubt it.

  5. I certainly enjoy reading your blogs - especially the photography, as you know. But my favorite postings are the ones in which I get a little insight into you and what is going on in your life. Since I don't live close enough to know you in person, it's only through blogs (yours and mine) and twitter that we keep in touch. I would hate to lose that.

Writing a blog is for you, and if people care to comment, that is a plus. Would miss you if you stopped blogging and/or twittering - even if we are on totally different time schedules.

  7. I love your sharing Thea! I am in the same boat as you (but very far behind)and know that my words will never dance magically across the page like they do for some, but I do want to put things in writing on my blog to let my kids have something to look back on.

  11. Ah, but there is something very poetic in the way you wrote this post, Thea.

    I'm an oversharer too :)

  12. I can so identify with you, I am a chronic over-sharer, heart on my sleeve, what you see is what you get kinda girl.

I love photos with blogs so much I've started including more in mine.

I love that blogging can be whatever the blogger WANTS it to be. Hey, my blog started out as just updates for Footprints, the little magazine I run. Now it's become so much more - I post about my abusive childhood and healing on Fridays; a God post on Tuesdays; and whatever takes my fancy in between! I love blogging about life with teenagers, and anything else that happens to take my fancy at that point in time :-).

See?! I've done it again. Classic over-sharer!

  14. I love your 'ramblings' as much as I love your sharing - I only wish I were a more consistent blog reader....so little time, so much to do and all that jazz. Keep on rambling and sharing to your heart's content, lovely lady, because we LOVE it! xxx
