Sunday Session

New rules - there are no rules!
On Sundays I play music on my blog.
Old or new or in between.
Related or not.
But always songs I love!
Here are my picks for this week.
You can play along by linking up below.
Can't wait to hear your picks.

Happy Sunday!

Last Sunday Elvis Presley would have been 77, if he'd still been alive.
If I'd been on the ball, I would have dedicated last week's Sunday Session to Elvis.
But I am this week, a week late, but you know what they say about being late!

I've always loved Elvis. I'm not a mad fan, I don't have collections of Elvis paraphernalia.
But one day I would love to have all of his movies. I love his movies!! I think I have seen all of them.

The ones in Hawaii are my favouites...or any with a wedding...oh ok, any that he sings in is my favourite.
Yep! That's ALL of them!!
So, today's songs are all about Elvis.

  1. When I was a little girl and we played house, Elvis was often my husband, and sometimes Hutch from Starsky and Hutch, oh and Shaun Cassidy.

I was such a cool dancer at that time of my life, that when I went over to my playmate's house and her parents had Elvis on the stereo, I would just get down and boogie right there in her living room, no matter who was watching. I was awesome. Really.

When Elvis died they played non-stop Elvis movies for weeks and I was glued to the TV, my eyes are just a little bit square as a result. ;-)

Thanks for sharing these. I hadn't seen the video for that first one, it was really well done.

  2. The Elvis festival is on this weekend in Parkes so the local radio has been playing a lot of Elvis and promoting it.
I loved Elvis movies ' swoon' and I don't mind his voice.
Mine will be up after we have breakfast.

  3. Ah Elvis. I can remember as a child watching Elvis movies on a Sunday afternoon on TV.

My parents were big Elvis fans and had all his records (as in vinyls). My father was rather upset that my mother got to keep them in the divorce.

  4. Elvis...my mum's absolute favourite EVER! I remember her rushing to have a space on the couch when she knew that they were showing an Elvis movie on t.v when I was younger...:)

  5. I love Elvis too! My best mate all through primary school and high school, her Dad was a MASSIVE Elvis fan. He had this downstairs bar that was decorated with Elvis memorabilia and posters, he listened to Elvis non-stop, he'd been to Graceland several times, he only drove purple classic cars, and everyone even called him Elvis and he named his son Aaron. So when you went to her house is was kinda hard to avoid the Elvis influence. Always reminds me of my childhood and good times.

  6. Elvis is my mum's absolute favourite! I remember her rushing to get a seat on the couch so that she can watch an Elvis movie that was showing on TV and I had to be really quiet too!

  7. Elvis is someone I've never ever gotten into. I don't know why, just haven't. And yet I do acknowledge his place in history, so I'm okay with all that; it's just that personally he's never done it for me. Movies and music. But I respect everyone else's right to love him ... x
