Sunday Session

New rules - there are no rules!
On Sundays I play music on my blog.
Old or new or in between.
Related or not.
But always songs I love!
Here are my picks for this week.
You can play along by linking up below.
Can't wait to hear your picks.

Australia has plenty of talent shows...Australian Idol, X Factor, Australia's Got Talent...and I must admit I get sucked into every one of them. I'm really looking forward to The Voice, it looks amazing. This week's Sunday Session is some of what these shows have unearthed.

This is my new favourite song by Timomatic who did not win Australia's Got Talent, but was placed third last year.

And then there's Ricki-Lee Coulter who made it to the top 12 of Australian Idol in 2004.

The next song is from Jessica Mouboy (who was Australian Idol's runner up in 2006) and Stan Walker (who won in 2009).

And another one from Australian Idol was Shannon Noll, who was runner up in 2003.

I think Australia really does have talent. Don't you?

  1. Australia really does have some phenomenal talent. I don't watch those shows myself but some of the stars that have emerged have really shined. Guy Sebastian, Anthony Callea and Ricki-Lee are artists that I could listen to forever - they certainly deserve all the success they have achieved. Great choices Thea!

  2. I have loved seeing who makes their way into the charts after these shows. I don't watch Australia's Got Talent, but Timomatic is a fantastic singer and dancer. To me, he's in the same league as the American boys, like Chris Brown. Ricki Lee often sounds like Beyonce on the radio - she has a brilliant singing range. I love the tone of Stan Walker's voice. Jessica Mauboy is so pretty and has an amazing voice, but I don't always get into her songs. It's good that Guy Sebastian pops up with a new, catchy song every now and then. Matt Corby has made a real name for himself in alternative circles. His Brother song is just so powerful. A few of the people from Australian Idol have slipped off the radar, and have done other things like TV and writing books, or have just disappeared. But at least they had a go at living their dream! xx
