Here's one we had on the weekend.
Miss 4 - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6..........26, 27, 28, 29, 2010. Hey Mum, I can count to twenty-ten!
Me - That's great, darling. Do you know what twenty-ten is really called?
Miss 4 - What?
Me - Thirty
Miss 4 - Well I call it twenty-ten.
Me - Okay then.Sometimes, there's really no point in arguing with a pre-schooler's logic.
Especially when it makes sense!
LOL You need to tell her its twenty-twelve (2012) now LOL
ReplyDelete(((( Hugs )))) XXXX Kisses XXXX
20-10 makes perfect sense to me too! x
ReplyDeleteI love kid logic.
ReplyDelete:-) x
I know it well! Did she go through the threeteen, fourteen, fiveteen, stage? Ah, youngens.
ReplyDeleteAnd how has she settled in to school now?
xx
hehe, I don't think she did do the 'teen' thing. But she is soooo much better at kindy now. Still a little clingy when I leave. But she even had show & tell yesterday! :)
DeleteI love this Thea, because this is precisely the kind of conversations I'm involved in every single day, with Mr4. Their kind of logic is the best, because it's really hard to refute. The counting and numbers thing is also very big with Mr4 at the moment. He almost obsesses over ages and birthdays and who is older or younger or the same age as him. It's tiring, but pretty cute too xo
ReplyDeleteJulie, I'm hearing you!! Miss 4 is also always talking about ages, her cousins' in particular. One cousin is 5 days older than her, but is smaller. I cannot convince her she is the youngest, because she's not the smallest! lol
DeleteAnd hey, Miss 4 is extra smart because 20 and 10 IS actually 30! ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd double especially when the US call it exactly that! (as does our own prime minister) How confusing it has been for my Miss 5 to hear them say "twenty-ten" or "twenty-twelve" on the radio at times. Do they not think of the (learning) children!? ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh, darn it! Simpsonslover is me! That's Lolly biting my nose off (with her 4 - at the time - teeth) Darn old log-in strikes again...!
