Road Trip

Today we spent five hours driving to spend two hours at my Grandma's 85th birthday party picnic.
The joy of living too far away from family.

As any parents who spend any amount of time in the car with small children will know, there are some things that you just do not want to hear!
Some of them are...

I'm hot.
I'm bored.
I'm hungry.
I'm thirsty.
I feel sick.
I need to go to the toilet.
The DVD player isn't working.
I want to get out.
Are we there yet?

This list is not exhaustive, I'm sure there are many more.
But just like everything in life, negatives are often balanced out by positives.

Like this...

Two kids singing their little hearts out to Brian McFadden's "Just Say So".
Yes, we've practically had that song on repeat for weeks.
Yes, I did like that song, now I'm a little over it.
And yes, they are the cutest things in the world, and I had the biggest grin on my face.
It made my day.

  5. Adorable Thea!

My kids sing along to old music like American Pie - Don McLean and The Cover of the Rolling Stone - Dr Hook, but that is because their mum is caught in a time warp.
