Happy Sunday!
Last week Wendy from Beautiful Day's Sunday Session was all about A-Ha. She re-awakened my love for A-Ha and Morten Harket in particular. Take on Me was a massive favourite of mine. I still remember recording it and playing it to death. I would sing along as best I could (can you believe the range in that song?!) and still remember Dad tell me I sang it really well. That was a huge compliment to me. And I just loved the 'film clip'. I wanted to be lost in the animation with Morten! So, without further ado....here's my oldie for this week...

And I'm breaking my own rules again! Oh come on, it is my Sunday Session. You can break them too if you want! ;)
Completely co-incidentally I just went searching for last years' No. 1 song for this time of year and stumbled upon this weeks' No.1 for 1984! That's not the co-incidence, the co-incidence is that I heard this song in the shopping centre last week and thought I must do that for my Sunday Session...then promptly forgot all about it! It was this, the perfect song to sing along to and have an excellent excuse for not knowing the words...
What?! You don't know the words to 99 Luftballons?! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI also recorded 'Take On Me' off the radio, complete with the DJ talking at the beginning and end. Thanks for the reminder of my youth. Recently saw some photos of me with my crows' feet, and I think I needed a boost.
WOW blasts from the past grew up with both these great songs.
ReplyDeleteGot an theme idea for next Sunday's Session since the Royal Wedding is comming up & your a big fan of it, why not have songs you would like or have liked played at your wedding?
Will link up with your Sunday Session later sweetie going to go catch some more ZZzz's first
(((( Hugs )))) XXXX Kisses XXXX
I loved and still love these songs. They are great to sing to and I loved watching Countdown to see them.
ReplyDeleteGreat Choice.

ReplyDeleteThanks for that i have now danced and sang for 20 mins hehehehe
Both of those songs were HUGE favourites of mine from the eighties! I think that A-Ha clip made every girl fall for Morten - he came through a magazine for her! xx
ReplyDeleteLove me a bit of Morten.
ReplyDeleteOne of my first boyfriens, Jonathan, was a dead ringer for him. Fashion sense and all...
xx
