Country Polly

I love seeing the theme from Danimezza for the
Polly Dolly Challenge each week.
I especially love when it feels like it's going to be a bit tricky.
This week Danielle has chosen
Country
and as I grew up in the country you think this would be easy for me.
But no.
I'm not sure which way I'll go, yet.
Is Polly is a 'real' country girl?
or
Is Polly visiting the country?

Because there is a BIG difference.

Real country folk wear very unromantic work clothes.
Clothes that are tough, old, stained, torn.
You don't usually get to see them because when a farmer is interviewed for the newspaper or TV, he/she often put on their best jeans and button up shirt.

Visitors usually wear the most inappropriate things...think the girls on Farmer Wants a Wife!

Hmmmm, most inappropriate

Anyway, enough prattle.
I'm off to see what Polyvore has in store for me today...

Well, I should have known, Polly is a wealthy land owner's wife!
Today she's hosting a garden party and you're invited.

This fun challenge is the brain child of Danimezza...

  1. Ha ha... i love your description of real country people because i live in country nsw and though i live in town, your description is absolutely spot on for the farmers who live out on their propertys. I can also totally see a "cockys " wife wearing that set - well done!

  4. Beautiful set Ms Thea. I imagine this would be right at home at one of those properties like they used to use on McLeod's Daughters. Faaaaaancy. Can I come?

And it's so funny, I thought the same thing, do you want country country or dressy country!?

  7. Sigh. Do you think maybe we were meant to be kindred spirits? Anne and Diana?

I LOVE your set! I might have known you'd go all girly too, our Polly's are too alike.
