Sunday Session

New rules - there are no rules!
On Sundays I play music on my blog.
Old or new or in between.
Related or not.
But always songs I love!
Here are my picks for this week.
You can play along by linking up below.
Can't wait to hear your picks.

Happy Sunday!

I'm writing this post on Friday night because we'll be away tomorrow night,
and I like to have it ready to hit publish on Sunday morning.
Tomorrow Miss 4 and I are going to see the Wiggles!
We saw them a few years ago and I LOVED them.
I think, more than the kids did!
I know it might not be cool, but I love lots of kids music (and movies).
And the Wiggles have always been a big favourite of mine, thankfully my kids love/d them too.
Our 7 year old boy has outgrown them, sadly.
But Miss 4 still loves them...and I'm so excited to be going on a Mummy/Daughter outing with her tomorrow.

And that brings me to this week's Sunday Session.
If you can't stand the Wiggles and have been gritting your teeth thinking
"Please don't play a Wiggles song...."
I'm sorry...your worst fears are about to be realized.

I am playing a Wiggles song, but just one.
Skip it if you must, but how can you NOT like this one?? ;)

And now for a more grown up tune...kinda.
Here they are again...well half of them.
Spot Anthony and Jeff!
I love the 60's inspired beat, which of course was huge in the 80's.

PS It's Sunday morning and they didn't sing Shimmy Shake *sad face*
But the concert was fabulous.
Miss 4 loved it.
She didn't sing or dance...just sat there enthralled for the whole show.
But I did!!

  2. Ha! So funny. We're a Wiggles family too, but in the times of Greg Wiggle so haven't heard this one before. I still prefer Greg.

I tried to give away all the boys Wiggles DVDs to their little cousin, and as generous as they are with all their other outgrown toys, they would not part with the Wiggles. They used his recent visit as an excuse to watch them all over again.

At first I thought one of the main singers was Anthony and was thinking that he'd improved his looks with age, but then caught a glimpse of him with the guitar and realised my mistake. The lead singer is actually his brother, Paul.

Wanna hear something funny? Check this one out. It was a challenge where these artists were challenged to sing songs outside their genre: http://youtu.be/s-TgfQIMcsI

Hope you enjoyed your girls day out with your lovely daughter.

  3. Huuuge Wiggles fans here.
We were at the concert a couple of weeks back - and it was our favourite one so far.
I'm developing a little crush on Anthony - even the Cockroaches vid can't deter me!!
    Toot toot chugga chugga.

  4. My nephew would only ever watch one Wiggles DVD. Nearly drove my sister crazy.

Didn't matter what other Wiggles or Thomas The Tank Engine DVDs were on offer, it was always the same one that had to be put in the machine.

    I liked the Cockroaches.

  5. I still remember when my brother got his first Wiggles cassette - Wiggly Woo.

Thea I am not sure what happened but my link appears twice, sorry, feel like quite a twit. I did it the first time and it told me it didn't work and to try again which I did and now it is there twice.

  7. Rhianna - No problem, I just deleted one for you. That sort of thing happens to me all the time, too. :)

  9. Oh, no, I can't even bear to look at the Wiggles in that clip with the swful wigs - that's just wrong! However, I'd never seen the Cockraches clip before and was pleasantly surprised. It's a shame the guy in the pink shirt didn't join the Wiggles - he's a hottie! xx

  12. The cockroaches??? oh my, that's hilarious!
Gotta agree that Anthony was a spunk ;)

Is it wrong that I know all the words to the Wiggles songs even though I have no kids of my own?
I blame being an Aunt of 8 - well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...
