Les Miserables

I hadn't seen a grown-ups movie at the cinema for almost nine years...
Until last Friday.

My husband and I had a rare treat out after his mum (the best mil ever) offered to take the kids for TWO nights!!

So we took the very rare opportunity to go to the movies all by ourselves....

And this is what we saw -

Do not read on until you've watched the clip...
You've seen it? You're sure??

OK...read on...

I'm not sure if you know already, but music...musicals...music theatre...operettas (which I prefer to call this movie) move me like nothing else can.

It's now four days later and I still can't get the music out of my head.
I'm hooked, I'm infatuated, I'm in love!

The line from this preview that does it for me is -

"You get the fragility of a voice which matches with the emotions of what the character's saying."

Oh boy, do you!!

If music means anything to you, you MUST see this movie.

PS Anne Hathaway's "I Dreamed a Dream" is pure brilliance.

PPS Whilst I was sitting watching the movie the thought struck me that we should all stop speaking to each other and sing everything instead...a much more civilized way of communicating!

PPPS If you really need to know the pronunciation (like I did) here it is... CLICK

  3. I loved the movie too except for the dirty filthy screen and the rude noisy people sitting near me. I would love to see it again and perhaps I will only from the comfort of my room with the door locked and head phones on so I can sink into the richness and beauty of the songs.
I agree, it makes you want to sing your way through life!

  5. I saw it recently too Thea (with my sisters) and absolutely loved it. The music is still in my head. This movie is the only one EVER to have moved me to such an extent. After the movie, my sisters and I went to lunch and were in fits of laughter as we were bursting into song rather than speaking (eg...dear sister of mine, could you please pass the pepper...lalalalala!) lol

  6. First let me say that I am so glad to see you here blogging. I left my blog for awhile due to health reasons, and now that I am back I am so surprised to see so many abandoned blogs. SO GLAD TO SEE YOU HERE. I love music, and thanks for letting me visit.
