All Time Favourite TV Shows

The only thing I watch on TV these days is crappy reality stuff.  I love it.  It's my fix.
But I've always had favourite dramas and comedies in the past.  I'd impatiently wait for the next episode.  Just one bar of the theme music of a favourite show sends me reeling back to another time and place.  In fact, I think I love the theme songs as much as the shows.  I have so many TV theme piano books...I must dig them out and play some of them again.

I've blogged about my favourite books before, these are my all time favourite TV shows.

Some of them are before my time and I enjoyed them as re-runs.

For your added enjoyment, click on the titles for the theme songs!

And now I've got these songs stuck in my head.
What have I done??

  1. I want to know what happened to your TV viewing between 2001 and 2008? Big Brother?!

  2. Hey Lucy...reality TV!!! LOL
    That's a whole other blog.
And thanks to you I'm getting a stack of new followers.
    I think I love you! ;)

  3. That brought back some memories. Only about 3 on that list that I never watched. The rest I absolutely loved! Thanks for doing this - a nice trip down TV memory lane.

  4. a lot of your older ones my mum loved like mork & mindy.

i may or may not like neighbours. it is not in writing. though i try to watch them..

packed to the rafters is one of my favourites! love it. it comes back in june/july!!!

gilmore girls i bought the box set. i watched it all the way through once. might watch it again this year sometime :)

party of five and friends i watched now and then. friends most of the time lol.

frontline i watched for high school. year twelve. and loved it.

    and seinfield. they're okay...

  5. Awesomeness. Good to see A Country Practice and 90210 on there. But where is Buffy?!

  6. I love all those shows, well, all apart from maybe 4 that I am not familiar with.

I would add Babylon 5, Cagney and Lacey, Dr Who, Oh heck, there are just too many!

Thanks for a nice trip down memory lane.

And I so know what you mean about the theme tunes. Laverne and Shirley just make me so happy.

  7. I'm gonna be singing The Looooooove Boat all weekend now!

One of my most favourite shows was The Henderson Kids.
Also loved The Sullivans, Monkey Magic and The Bionic Woman.

  8. Loved reading your list :-)

I LOVED flying doctors when I was little. Thought it was the best show ever.

Oh and my maiden name was "rafter" but have never seen the show.

  9. Lovely little list - but you have to dip your toe into Outrageous Fortune (and if you get it on DVD, you can hear the theme music over and over and over!!)

  10. Oh I miss Melrose Place. I used to DROP EVERYTHING to watch that. Grant Show!! I missed him in my recent post of heartthrobs and embarrassments.

Thanks for the blast from the past Thea.

  11. Ohh, I loved nearly all of these. I always wanted to be Jaclyn Smith on Charlie's Angel, or set sail on The Love Boat. Seems we share a taste for craptacular telly and insomnia! As for reality TV, I can't go past the Bachelor/ette series and also Ladette to Lady. They are usually on in the middle of the night, so I get to watch a few!

  12. Mrs Desperate - Me too!! I wanted to be Jaclyn Smith, and now I'm a real Smith (and her birthday is the same day as mine!!) I feel close.
And I still want to set sail on the Love Boat!
The Bachelor/ette & Ladette to Lady are my FAVES!!!
    How funny.
    Thanks for your comment. x

  13. I've been on a sick leave since March and that gave me the opportunity to watch the re-runs of some of my favorite ever TV shows. It's a bummer they are on during office hours.
I am with you on Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, OooH Happy Days,Dynasty, The Cosby Show, Murder She Wrote, Moonlightning, L.A. Law (I became a lawyer because of that show!), Beverly Hills , Melrose Place, oh, the X FIles, Friends, Ally McBeal,......... but I would add Golden Girls, Northern Exposure, Star Trek (any series)....

  14. Some great memories on here.

A few others I loved years back were Dallas, Who's the Boss and Alf (don't laugh). More recently my favourites have been Arrested Development, The West Wing, 24 and Dexter. Oh and Grey's Anatomy!

Personally, I think The West Wing was the best show ever made. I've got all 7 seasons on DVD and can watch them over and over and over. I once did all 7 seasons which is about 200 hours in 2.5 weeks!!!

  15. I've watched pretty much all of those shows, and they bring back memories!!!

  16. That was fun! Where's the Colby's
Soundtracks and all the music we had to play/sing along :)

  17. Not many people I know watched Always Greener :) The country scenes were filmed not far from our old house, was always a pain when the streets were blocked & I couldn't get to the supermarket LOL!

  18. wow, they took me back! I watched most of those too.

  19. Firstly, thanks for putting the Brady Bunch theme song in my head! I'll be singing it all night, I'm sure.

Friends is an all time favourite. Always has been and always will be.

I'm too young to remember any of the old school stuff unfortunately :(

Just one little comment will make my day.
