All Time Favourite TV Shows

The only thing I watch on TV these days is crappy reality stuff.  I love it.  It's my fix.
But I've always had favourite dramas and comedies in the past.  I'd impatiently wait for the next episode.  Just one bar of the theme music of a favourite show sends me reeling back to another time and place.  In fact, I think I love the theme songs as much as the shows.  I have so many TV theme piano books...I must dig them out and play some of them again.

I've blogged about my favourite books before, these are my all time favourite TV shows.

Some of them are before my time and I enjoyed them as re-runs.

For your added enjoyment, click on the titles for the theme songs!

(And YES this did take me forever!!)

I would add Babylon 5, Cagney and Lacey, Dr Who, Oh heck, there are just too many!

Thanks for a nice trip down memory lane.

And I so know what you mean about the theme tunes. Laverne and Shirley just make me so happy.

  8. Loved reading your list :-)

I LOVED flying doctors when I was little. Thought it was the best show ever.

  9. Lovely little list - but you have to dip your toe into Outrageous Fortune (and if you get it on DVD, you can hear the theme music over and over and over!!)

  10. Oh I miss Melrose Place. I used to DROP EVERYTHING to watch that. Grant Show!! I missed him in my recent post of heartthrobs and embarrassments.

  11. Ohh, I loved nearly all of these. I always wanted to be Jaclyn Smith on Charlie's Angel, or set sail on The Love Boat. Seems we share a taste for craptacular telly and insomnia! As for reality TV, I can't go past the Bachelor/ette series and also Ladette to Lady. They are usually on in the middle of the night, so I get to watch a few!

  12. Mrs Desperate - Me too!! I wanted to be Jaclyn Smith, and now I'm a real Smith (and her birthday is the same day as mine!!) I feel close.
And I still want to set sail on the Love Boat!
The Bachelor/ette & Ladette to Lady are my FAVES!!!
    How funny.
    Thanks for your comment. x

  14. Some great memories on here.

A few others I loved years back were Dallas, Who's the Boss and Alf (don't laugh). More recently my favourites have been Arrested Development, The West Wing, 24 and Dexter. Oh and Grey's Anatomy!

Personally, I think The West Wing was the best show ever made. I've got all 7 seasons on DVD and can watch them over and over and over. I once did all 7 seasons which is about 200 hours in 2.5 weeks!!!

  19. Firstly, thanks for putting the Brady Bunch theme song in my head! I'll be singing it all night, I'm sure.

Friends is an all time favourite. Always has been and always will be.

I'm too young to remember any of the old school stuff unfortunately :(
